CS Tango Masterclasses are 3 hour workshops on a range of different topics, with a goal to provide a more complete understanding and mastery of each topic. With the 3 hour format, in each class we have time for:
- more individual guidance for each student in the class
- individual technique relevant to the topic
- partnering technique and exercises to improve kinaesthetic communication
- focus on quality of movement and cadencia
- several sequences or variations of a sequence to highlight different aspects of the topic
- musicality and practical application of the sequences
- creativity and improvisation using parts of the sequence
- student demonstrations and Q&A*
* In the tradition of music education, a Masterclass is an individual or group lesson in front of an audience. The idea is that you can learn not only from being instructed, but by observing the teacher instructing your peers. This is a fun way to build a community and learn from each other, and sometimes it can be easier to recognise and correct mistakes that you can see in others. We use this concept in our classes by having student couples volunteer to show parts of a sequence in front of the rest of the group to receive some helpful pointers or to answer questions they might have.
